Retaining Walls Built for Vancouver Island’s Terrain
Sloped lots and coastal terrain are the norm around Port Alberni, Tofino and Parksville — which means a retaining wall is often what stands between a usable yard and a slow-motion erosion problem. We build retaining walls sized and placed to actually hold, along with the concrete work that often goes with them.
What’s involved
Site and slope assessment, excavation and base preparation, wall construction, and drainage behind the wall so water pressure doesn’t undo the work — plus footings, flatwork and other structural concrete when a project calls for it.
FAQ
Do I need a permit or engineered drawings for a retaining wall?
Many municipalities require engineered drawings once a wall passes a certain height — worth checking with the Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District or your local building department before finalizing a design. We can build to whatever spec that process requires.
Do you also handle general concrete work?
Yes — footings, flatwork and structural concrete alongside wall construction.
